The Illini 4000

Benefits & Fundraisers

Tuesday, May 22, 2018 – Wednesday, May 23, 2018

For the last three or four years St. Paul’s Episcopal Church has hosted a group of cyclists from the University of Illinois who are riding from New York City to San Francisco—“Fighting Cancer on Two Wheels.” The cyclists will be arriving at St. Paul's mid-afternoon on Tuesday May 22.  They will be showering at the YMCA, eating dinner and “camping” on the dining room floor at St. Paul’s before resuming their ride on Wednesday morning.  This ride is part of Illini 4000. Their mission statement:  The Illini 4000 is a non-profit organization dedicated to documenting the American cancer experience through the Portraits Project, raising funds for cancer research and patient support services, as well as spreading awareness for the fight against cancer through annual cross country bike rides.
