Peggy Lou Feldmeier Lunchtime Lecture: DeWitt Clinton's 250th Birthday

March 2, 2019 is the sestercentennial--250th--anniversary of the birth of DeWitt Clinton, the visionary New York governor who championed and oversaw construction of the Erie Canal. During this special program Kenneth Silber, author of In DeWitt’s Footsteps: Seeing History on the Erie Canal, will discuss the intertwined national and family history that he and his relatives explored as they searched for remnants of Clinton’s Ditch and the Canal route as seen by DeWitt Clinton. Silber will also discuss and sign copies of his book. Admission is $5 per person, and there is no charge for Museum members. Tickets may be purchased online or at the door. Free parking will be available in the lot across from the Museum under routes 81 and 690.
